Carrier class software

Software for point-to-point (P2P) equipment

Point-to-Point broadband access equipment software (KDF software) is designed for use in 802.11 wireless routers for coordinated access to the environment and collision-free transmission of data by network nodes.

The KDF software is intended for use as part of the KODOFON radio access equipment and is its inherent part.

Basic functional characteristics:

The KDF software solves problems inherent in systems using the DCF (Distributed Coordination Function) channel access protocol with the CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access With Collision Avoidance) competitive access algorithm, in particular:
  • Reduce the number of collisions that decrease the total available bandwidth, which inevitably arise when increasing the number of simultaneously interacting stations and traffic in the communication network,
  • Provide the required limited latency for real-time traffic and throughput for heavy network traffic,
  • If necessary, prioritize downlink or uplink streams by redistributing the transmission time between these streams,
  • Eliminate the problem of a hidden node.

The embedded software (i.e. firmware) is pre-installed in the equipment and is delivered to the consumer along with the device.

The firmware is installed only by the device manufacturer.
The cost of the firmware is included in the price of the device.
